WHO WE ARE
Welcome to Healing Hearts Ministry and thank you for your
interest. We are a ministry that is close to the brokenhearted reaching out to
those who have lost hope emotionally and spiritually. We hope this site helps
you find the tools you need that will minister to your heart and move you
forward in life.
Our Vision is three fold:
To see…Hope restored to the broken hearted through renewed and
healed hearts.
To Confront…Lies and strongholds through the leading of the
Holy Spirit that paves the way for spiritual growth and relationship building.
To Provide…Teaching and materials that will help bring a better
understanding to unhealthy life cycles and abusive behaviors.
We are a ministry under the umbrella of Christ for the City International
located in Omaha, Nebraska. Their mission is to help people transform cities by
transforming lives. Christ for the city gives people the tools they need to make
informed decisions about how to answer God’s call for their life.

About Dee Johnston

In 1991, God placed a call on Dee’s life that
would change her forever. The call was to minister to people who
were broken in heart and spirit.
Little did she know that soon she would be facing her own brokenness
and facing her own demons.
Thus began the journey of Healing Hearts Ministry.
That was 16 years ago and in many ways Dee still feels like she is
just beginning. God began to birth in her heart and spirit a new way
to minister to others using her own experiences,
the experiences of others, and the wisdom of God.
For 12 years she grew and matured in the things of the Lord,
learning how to minister to the broken-hearted. Then in 2002 the
Lord led her out of church ministry to join Christ for the City
International, a Missionary Organization in Omaha, Nebraska.
In February 2006, Dee did Leadership Training at the Christ For the
City International base in Costa Rica. One outcome of that training
was the vision for a Healing Hearts Ministry in the local area that
God birthed in the hearts of seven women in the class. This had
already been a desire in Dee’s heart. In March of 2007, this dual
vision was fulfilled when Healing Hearts Ministry went International
and Healing Hearts Costa Rica was
launched.
Dee is an accomplished speaker, leadership trainer, and author. Her
book The Trail of Broken Pieces is available in
English and Spanish.
Dee and her husband Dick were married for 40 years. They have two
sons. Dick passed away in 2005. |
